Paterson, Passaic County, N.J. – On September 29th, a motor vehicle stop by troopers led to the arrest of a Far Rockaway, NY man, and the seizure of 35 pounds of marijuana.

While on patrol on I-80 in Paterson, Trooper Steven Spitaleri stopped a Gray Kia Rio for failure to maintain a lane. During the motor vehicle stop, assisting Trooper Cormac Joyce noticed a small amount of marijuana on the driver’s side floor area. The driver, Ronald Patroni, 48, of Far Rockaway, NY was immediately placed under arrest.

A court authorized search warrant for Patroni’s Kia led to the discovery of 35 pounds of marijuana located in the trunk of his car.

Patroni was charged with:

  • Possession of marijuana
  • Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
  • Motor vehicle summonses

Patroni was lodged in the Passaic County Jail in lieu of 250,000 full cash bail.
