Detectives Arrest Four of Six Latin Kings Wanted For Cutting
Throat of Fellow Gang Member

North Bergen City - Chief Angelo Busacco of the North Bergen Police Department and Lt. William DiGiuseppe, Acting Bureau Chief of the State Police Street Gang Bureau today announced the arrest of four members of the Latin Kings Street Gang for the attempted murder of a fellow gang member. The event, held at the North Bergen Police sub-station on 61st Street, also focused on two gang members who are still wanted for the crime.

The attack occurred on August 29, 2004 following an altercation between the "first crown" (ranking member) of the Hudson County chapter, Joshua Galindo, and the victim. The victim, whose name is being withheld because of safety concerns, sustained life-threatening injuries including serious cuts from box cutters to his throat and the rest of his body by six members of his gang. The victim is recovering.

Arrest warrants were issued in Hudson County Superior Court on September 16th, and early Friday morning, September 17th, two searches in Union City and two in North Bergen resulted in the arrests of four of the six Latin Kings wanted in the attack. Arrested were:

  1. Joshua Galindo, 28, 310 8th St. Union City, NJ
    AKA "King Apache"
  2. Jose Santos, 29, 310 8th St. Union City, NJ
    AKA "King Vengeance"
  3. Irving Rivera, 28, 249-251 Cliff St. Apt. 8, Cliffside Park, NJ
    AKA "King Irv"
  4. Jose Alvarez, 49, 1458 68th St. North Bergen, NJ
    AKA "King Sinbad"

Charges for all six subjects include attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, aggravated assault, possession of weapon and possession of weapon for unlawful purpose. The arrested subjects were processed in the North Bergen and Union City Police Departments and lodged in Hudson County jail in default of $200,000 cash bail.

Wanted on the same charges are:

  1. Christian Atoche, 22, 1309 Bergenline Ave. Union City, NJ
    AKA "King Toof"
  2. Renzo Castello, 27, 6105 Monitor Pl. West New York, NJ
    AKA "King Skillz"

North Bergen police and State Police Street Gang Unit detectives are asking the public for assistance in locating the last two gang members for this violent crime. The public is urged to call (201)392-2100 or (201)392-2095 with information on the whereabouts of these wanted subjects who are to be considered armed and dangerous.
