Trooper uses Naloxone and CPR to Revive Unconscious Man

Westampton Township, N.J. - A New Jersey State Trooper used Naloxone and CPR to revive a man who was overdosing in a restroom in Westampton, N.J.

On Friday, November 15, at approximately 9:51 p.m., Trooper Kyle Morley entered the men's restroom of a Wawa and heard a man in the bathroom stall collapse. When Trooper Morley asked if the man was alright, there was no reply. Since the unresponsive victim was locked in the stall, Trooper Morley forced the door open in order to reach him.

Once inside the stall, he discovered the man was unconscious with a faint pulse, so he moved him out in order to render aid. Based on his training and experience, Trooper Morley recognized that the victim was suffering from the effects of a possible heroin overdose. As a result, Trooper Morley notified dispatch before beginning CPR.

A short time later, Westampton EMS arrived and continued CPR while Trooper Morley administered two doses of Naloxone. Within a minute, the victim had a pulse and regained consciousness. He was then transported by EMS to Virtua Mount Holly Hospital for further treatment.

Trooper Morley happen to be in the right place at the right time and undoubtedly helped save the man's life.
