Roxbury Township, N.J. - The New Jersey State Police have arrested David Fonseca, 27, of Rochester, N.Y., for allegedly brandishing and pointing a handgun at another driver.
On Friday, February 15, at 11:13 a.m., troopers from Netcong Station were alerted by dispatch of an erratic driver traveling westbound on Interstate 80 in Morris County. The victim called 911 to report that another driver pulled up next to him and pointed a handgun at him. He was able to provide a description of the vehicle, which was a tractor trailer with New York license plates.
Within minutes, troopers located and stopped the truck in the area of milepost 32.2. Fonseca was subsequently arrested and found to be in possession of a .32 caliber revolver, which was located in the truck.
David Fonseca was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and aggravated assault. He was lodged at the Morris County jail pending a detention hearing.
Charges are mere accusations, and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.
