State Police Locate Fugitive Allegedly Operating Heroin and Cocaine Facility

Perth Amboy, N.J. - The New Jersey State Police have arrested Anthony V. Chicarello, 38, of Perth Amboy, for more than a dozen criminal offenses including maintaining a heroin and cocaine facility.

State Police detectives from the Troop “C” Criminal Investigations Office’s Detective Operational Group (D.O.G.) were investigating Chicarello for allegedly using fictitious documents.  During the investigation, it was determined that Chicarello was using aliases to avoid arrest for a warrant that was issued by the Union County Sherriff’s Department for drug related charges.

On Wednesday, July 5, with assistance from the State Police Fugitive Unit, detectives located Chicarello at his residence on Long Ferry Road in Perth Amboy and arrested him without incident.  As a result, detectives seized cocaine, heroin, marijuana, multiple prescription legend drugs, drug paraphernalia consistent with heroin manufacturing, a .380mm handgun loaded with hollow point bullets, multiple fictitious documents and $2,634 cash.

Chicarello was charged with the following:

Maintaining a CDS cocaine facility
Maintaining a CDS heroin facility
Distribution of CDS cocaine
Possession of a loaded firearm while maintaining a CDS facility
Possession of a loaded firearm for unlawful purpose
Possession of a loaded firearm for certain persons
Distribution of CDS heroin
Possession of CDS heroin
Possession of CDS oxycodone
Possession of CDS cocaine
Possession of a false driver’s license
Possession of a false birth certificate
Possession of a false social security card
Possession of hollow point bullets during a CDS offense
Possession of CDS marijuana
Possession of drug paraphernalia

Anthony Chicarello was lodged in the Union County Jail on the outstanding criminal warrant. 

This case is being prosecuted by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

Charges are mere accusations and the suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
