Charged for Drug Possession, DWI, and Multiple Car Burglaries

Totowa Borough, N.J. – State Police detectives have linked Ivan Lukic, 37, of Butler, N.J., to multiple burglary charges, after responding to a one-car crash in Totowa Borough.

Yesterday, at approximately 2:12 p.m., Ivan Lukic was driving a 2016 Volkswagon eastbound on Interstate 80, when he crashed in the area milepost 56.1. Troopers arrived and arrested Lukic for Driving While Intoxicated. Prior to being placed in the troop car, he was searched and found to be in possession of heroin.

Further investigation revealed that the vehicle was stolen out of Paterson, on February 10. Detectives searched the vehicle and seized burglary tools, stolen property, heroin, and Xanax. In addition, investigators have linked Lukic to additional car burglaries in Bloomingdale and Butler Townships.

This is an active investigation. Anyone in the Passaic County area who is a victim of a recent car burglary is asked to contact Detective Nick Lynn at (973) 785-9419.

Ivan Lukic was charged with receiving stolen property, possession of burglar’s tools, possession of heroin, possession of prescription legend drugs, criminal use of CDS, possession of paraphernalia, and possession of hypodermic needles. He was lodged at the Passaic County Jail in lieu of 100,000 full bail.
