Troopers Arrest Man Who Left Children Home Alone While He Robs Store with Hairbrush

Alloway Township, N.J. - It took New Jersey State Troopers about one hour to track down and arrest a man early Sunday afternoon, June 5th, after he allegedly robbed Budís Market, located at 6 Main Street. Trevor Calhoun, 26, Quinton, is accused of entering the Market wearing a face mask and hooded sweatshirt, and pointing what appeared to be a concealed handgun at the cashier from under his clothing. This object was later discovered to be a hair brush. The clerk turned over cash, and Calhoun left the store. Witnesses called the State Police Woodstown Station with the license plate and car description, a red PT Cruiser.

Troopers found Calhoun at his home in Quinton Township, with his two young children, who he had left alone while committing the robbery. The stolen money was found to be hidden in Calhounís shoes. Troopers also uncovered CDS in two hypodermic syringes and clothing worn during the robbery.

Calhoun was charged with Robbery, Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purposes, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Possession of CDS, and CDS paraphernalia. The weapon charge was filed because Calhoun committed the robbery while giving the clerk cause to believe he had a gun.

Calhoun was lodged in the Salem Country Jail on $50,000 full cash bail.

The children are in the custody of their mother, who was at work during the crime.
