Colonel Rick Fuentes Participates In The National
"Drive To Save Lives" Campaign

New Orleans, L.A. – Today, Colonel Rick Fuentes will join the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), the United States Department of Transportation, and highway patrol leaders from over 40 states to announce the “Drive to Save Lives” campaign.

The campaign is a collaborative effort by state police and highway patrol leaders towards reducing highway fatalities nationwide by 15 percent in 2014.  Highway fatalities rank as one of the top 12 causes of death in the United States.

Leaders will look to learn from each other, exchange ideas, and implement data driven traffic programs that will focus on enforcement and driver education.  The campaign will also focus on unsafe driving behaviors of operators of large trucks and buses.

To date, there have been 98 deaths in New Jersey as a result of motor vehicle crashes, which is the exact same number at this time last year.  In 2013, New Jersey had a record low number of crash fatalities.

“Although the crash statistics to date are encouraging, we know that we can do better,” said Colonel Rick Fuentes, Superintendent of the New Jersey State Police. “I look forward to partnering with participating leaders as we collectively work to lower cash fatalities nationwide.”
