NJSP to Run Sobriety Checkpoints in Burlington County

In an effort to reduce crashes attributed to alcohol intoxication, New Jersey state troopers will strategically conduct DWI checkpoints statewide in 2012.  During January, troopers from Bordentown and Red Lion Barracks will set up checkpoints on Route 38 in Hainesport and Route 70 Southampton Township.   These locations were identified during a thorough review of crashes involving alcohol consumption.

At these checkpoints, drivers suspected of driving while intoxicated will be given field sobriety tests and arrested when they are found to be under the influence of alcohol and or drugs.

Regardless of how you feel, don't get behind the wheel if you have been consuming enough alcohol to be affected.  A designated driver, a cab, or public transportation are all better options than risking your license and your life by driving while under the influence.
